A "yes man," a sycophantic suck up whose ability to kiss the a** of his superiors proved both literal and figurative, he was highly entertaining and pathetically subservient, this despite being able to beat any man senseless between the ropes. Never has a performer taken a better, more entertaining and hilarious tongue lashing from the Billion Dollar Princess as Regal did during his time as commissioner between 2000-01. His facial expressions alone made watching him completely emasculated by Stephanie McMahon incredibly enjoyable. The fact that it made perfect sense within the context of his character made it forgivable and, even, sensible. When he succeeded, he was still treated like trash by the McMahon family but when he failed, the mistreatment he endured fit right in with what fans expected from the persona. Whereas Stephanie berating a male talent who was supposed be strong, physically imposing or deceptively intelligent made no sense, in Regal's case, it was a phenomenal bit of booking on the part of WWE Creative.
