Glenn Jacobs AKA Kane has one of the most bizarre yet enduring careers in pro wrestling. When he first debuted in 1997, few people could have predicted the staying power of The Big Red Machine, but for the past seventeen years, Kane has been a staple of WWE programming. Everyone knows the broad strokes of Kane's career. He's Paul Bearer's son, and The Undertaker's half-brother. He was burned as a child and had to wear a mask, but then it turned out his scars were all psychological. He's been a monster, a demon, a corporate stooge and a hugger over the course of his career, and one time, Triple H dressed up as him to hump a mannequin in a funeral parlour. The character of Kane has proven to be one of the most versatile in wrestling history, and Kane's always done exactly what he's been asked to do, no matter how bizarre. He's often overlooked when it comes to his wrestling ability, but he's put on memorable matches with The Undertaker, X-Pac and Edge, plus he even had a Match of the Year candidate in 2012 when Team Hell No teamed with Ryback to take on The Shield. Over the course of his twenty-two year career in pro wrestling he's been and done and seen things you can only imagine, and here we've collected a few things you might now have know about The Devil's Favourite Demon.
Honourable Mention - Kane's One Day WWF Championship Reign
After a year in the WWF as Kane, he'd proven to be an unstoppable monster. No matter how many times The Undertaker would defeat him, Kane would rise again. As King of the Ring 1998 approached and The Undertaker was heading into an infamous Hell in a Cell match against Mankind, Kane would get a chance at Steve Austin's WWF Championship in a First Blood match. Oh, and if Austin wins? Kane has to light himself on fire. Kane wins when The Undertaker interferes and accidentally clocks Austin with a chair, busting him open. It's a shame that WWF never really got behind the idea of Kane as champion. The fact that it took interference from both The Undertaker and Mankind shows their reticence towards Kane being a top guy, and the next night on Raw, he'd lose the title. Over his career, Kane would have the odd singles championship now and then, be it Hardcore, Intercontinental, or ECW. It took twelve years for him to win another world championship, but when he did it revitalised his career he proved what WWE could have had all along. Kane's run as World Heavyweight Champion is one of the most underrated, and that era of SmackDown often gets overlooked but out of all of his feuds with his brother, The Undertaker, their 2010 feud for that title stands out as one of the best.
