Two years before he would become The Big Red Monster, Jerry "The King" Lawler was one WWF's most impressive cowardly heels, and was engaged in one of his most memorable feuds with Bret "The Hitman" Hart. In order to run The Hitman out of the WWF, Lawler sought the aid of his private dentist, Dr. Isaac Yankem, DDS (I. Yankem, get it?) This was during an incredibly weird time for WWF, that's remembered mostly for what's been dubbed the "occupational" gimmicks. It seemed like in the early nineties, no-one was a wrestler, they were someone with a specific job who also wrestled. It was the time of clowns, hockey players, repo men, mounties and trash collectors. Even The Undertaker debuted as a mortician who wrestled. Jacobs' time as Yankem wouldn't last very long, he lost every encounter with Hart during the feud. Perhaps the highlight of his time as the evil dentist was lasting seven minutes in the 1996 Royal Rumble, a sign of things to come.
