10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Ric Flair

Woooo!

Ric Flair is one of the most famous professional wrestlers ever. He's also somebody that had one of the longest careers in the history of the sport. He started back in 1972 and had a career that has spanned 40 years. He's the only man that currently has two WWE Hall of Fame rings from his own induction in 2008 and the Four Horsemen's induction in 2012. The majority of Flair's career was spent outside of WWE. He was known as the face of the NWA/WCW promotion throughout the 1980s and into the early 1990s. He didn't join WWE until 1991 and after going back to WCW in early 1993, he stayed there until the company was bought out in 2001. Later in 2001, Flair returned to WWE as an active member of the roster even though he was in his 50s. Flair's durability is one of the most amazing things about him, but it's also something that tarnished his legacy a bit because he's a guy that definitely held on too long. Since this is a feature about WWE, it will focus on things that happened during Flair's career when he was associated with WWE. Just because WWE owns the rights to WCW doesn't mean it's their responsibility for awful WCW angles like when Flair was committed to a mental hospital or they scripted for him to have a heart attack as part of an angle. A lot of fans may not even know that Flair's real last name is Fliehr. Obviously the spelling of Flair is more visually appealing that way, so that's what he has used during his career as a performer. As is always the case in these €œthings WWE wants you to forget€ features, we are looking at things from a person€™s career in storylines as well as personal incidents that may shine a bad light on WWE. Some of them have been acknowledged by WWE in some way, but they are not things that will be mentioned as great moments in Flair's career. These are things that WWE likes to push aside or totally avoid if they can. Here's a look at ten things that WWE wants you to forget about the man that made styling and profiling famous, the "Nature Boy" Ric Flair.
