It's fair to say that 2006 was a pretty rough year in the life of the 'Big Red Machine' (and that's saying something when you consider just how difficult an upbringing he had).

After hearing his most intimate thoughts blaring out around the arena (and the world), and seeing his debut movie take a battering from the critics, he was then attacked by someone claiming to be him (but who was actually just Festus, out of Jesse and Festus).

Here's how we know WWE don't want us to remember this: Imposter Kane actually won their match at Vengeance. The writers must, therefore, have had plans to continue the storyline originally before seeing sense in time for the following night's Raw, when real Kane - quite literally - kicked his doppelganger to the kerb.
