10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Lita

7. Eric Bischoff Fired Her For Refusing To Pose Nude

The fact that Lita became a fairly nondescript colour commentator for Sunday Night Heat in 2002 almost made it as a full entry here, but it pales in comparison to what happened next. After going down with a serious neck injury in April of that year, Lita was called onto Raw by then-GM Eric Bischoff in April, 2003 and given quite the ultimatum.

If Lita wished to keep her job, Bischoff reasoned, she would have to follow in the footsteps of other women like Torrie Wilson and pose nude for Playboy. After promptly turning down her boss, the fan favourite female was fired.

Yes, she was sacked for refusing to get naked. WWE was very different in 2003.

Obviously, this kind of storyline wouldn't fly in 2017. WWE's approach to women's wrestling is just a tad more respectful, but the company can't wipe away the fact this happened a mere 14 years ago.
