10 Times WWE Disrespected Rey Mysterio

Who puts their son on the line in a ladder match?

Rey Mysterio is no longer a WWE contracted wrestler. WWE confirmed on Thursday February 26th that Rey had left the company and was now a free agent. Mysterio made his WWE debut on the July 25th 2002 Smackdown, beating Chavo Guerrero in a good match. Originally used as little more than a cruiserweight and tag team wrestler, Mysterio's consistently good performances and increasing popularity helped him transition into a main event role. The master of the 619 accomplished more in WWE than anyone would have predicted. He won the Royal Rumble, captured the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania and competed in just about every gimmick match available. A wrestler's as well as fans' favourite, he was well-liked and respected backstage. However, for all of Rey's accomplishments, his career was often slowed down due to serious injuries and conflicts with WWE management. Sometimes, WWE did things to Rey that could be seen as disrespectful. Rey might be a smiling, happy-go-lucky babyface, but he's not afraid to play the political game backstage either. So where does that leave Rey Mysterio? Odds are that he will turn up in the Mexican promotion TNA and in Lucha Underground. Rey will be in demand: he is a legend in the wrestling business and must have one or two matches left in him. Here's hoping a shoot interview is forthcoming, so Rey can shed a little light on these instances of disrespect.
