The Wyatt Family ran roughshod over WWE for the second half
of 2013, and were poised for a major collision with The Shield. However, they
ran into a roadblock in the form of Daniel Bryan. Bryan joined the Wyatt Family
in late 2013 using the whole, “If you can’t beat em, join em” rationale (sound
familiar to a similar occurrence earlier this year?). Wyatt accepted him, no
questions asked, and handed him a janitor’s outfit to be the newest member of
the Wyatt Family.
When Bryan finally revealed he wasn’t actually
in the Wyatt Family, it was a great moment for him; the roof blew off the
place and signaled to WWE that Daniel could indeed be a main event player. The
casualty in that situation was unfortunately Bray, who was made to look like a
fool for trusting his new acolyte. Bray won their singles match at Royal Rumble, but by
that point, the damage had been done.
