WWE Hell In A Cell was an okay show, which managed to hit the "very good" levels for the two main cell matches. It was a night in which titles changed and narratives closed, meaning the company has moved forward to a fresher looking future ahead of Survivor Series. Several wrestlers can now look forward to new horizons in the short and long term, with the Cell also laying some ground work for April's WrestleMania. As for the shorter term, several of WWE's booking choices were designed with a rejuvenating effect in mind. The hope internally will be that changes made at Hell In A Cell will result in new intrigue for Monday night Raw. The ratings in recent weeks have desperately needed a boost, so Hell In A Cell was designed to re-shuffle the deck a little. In several key areas, the future now looks that little bit different, and importantly that little bit brighter.
10. Roman Reigns Has Arrived
One of the stand out performances of the night was Roman Reigns. Whether it was his delivery of moves, or his overall selling, he did a tremendous job in telling an engaging story with Bray Wyatt at Hell In A Cell. He was "on it" the whole time in terms of his performance. Maybe the Cell will be remembered as the night WWE turned a corner with him. The fans were hugely into his work by the end of the bout, with the crowd really reacting to everything he did or sold. The hope internally in WWE will be that fans now look forward to seeing Reigns perform. "Very good long match. This was a long slow match, 70s pacing where Reigns sold a ton and for a long period of time, would make some comebacks. Very deliberate and well worked," Dave Meltzer noted at the Wrestling Observer Newsletter website. In truth, Reigns has been a big match player all year. Against Daniel Bryan at Fastlane, against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, even against Big Show at Extreme Rules - he has proved that he can deliver a big performance. This latest Hell In A Cell performance could be the turning point for people getting behind him as WWE's future.
