10 Ways WWE Has Failed Seth Rollins As WWE Champion

WWE Creative has failed to capitalise on their newest main event star.

The sky was the limit for Seth Rollins just a few short months ago. When he cashed-in his Money in the Bank briefcase midway through the main event of WrestleMania 31, Rollins stole the WWE World Heavyweight Championship right from the grasp of dominant titleholder Brock Lesnar. It was the professional wrestling heist of the century and brought a satisfying conclusion to a show that was one of the best WWE has put out in years. However, few would doubt that Rollins' star has waned since that fateful night in March. He was the hottest heel in the company after the sensational implosion of The Shield last year and had built nothing but momentum since that day. The World Title, though, has proven to be something of an albatross around the neck of the talented performer, who has struggled to maintain that position in the face of booking decisions that continually paint him as a man out of his depth. Rollins cannot be faulted for his run as champion. His in-ring work has been out of this world and he has risen to every challenge the writing team have put in his way. The fact that Rollins' run as the man at the top of the WWE mountain has been rather underwhelming is not the fault of the Iowan star €” the fault lies solely at the door of WWE's creative offices and the people who pen his material. They, as much as anyone, are to blame.
