10 Wrestlers With The Most World Title Reigns
10. The Rock (10)
Coming in at number 10 is the biggest crossover star that professional wrestling has ever produced: The Rock.
The People’s Champ produced an enviable body of work throughout his time in the business. Not only was he a game-changing superstar who helped carry WWE through its most successful period, but he’s one of the biggest draws in wrestling history, and a decorated former champion. Rocky accumulated eight WWE Champions and two WCW title reigns throughout his full-time run with the company, and few, if any, have achieved so much in such little time.
The Rock’s most recent title ended at John Cena’s hands at WrestleMania 29 (2013), and if it weren’t for his blooming Hollywood career, he’d surely be at the top of the list. Aside from his most recent reign, Rock’s nine other championships came in a four-year period between 1998 and 2002: a truly astonishing record.
His WCW reigns came after the botched Invasion angle, and while they come with diminished credibility, they’re still world title reigns. Wrestling gave The Rock a perfect platform to become the biggest film star on the planet, and while his glory days appear to be behind him, The Great One will always be a huge hit with WWE fans. A tremendous legacy, whichever way you look at it.
