10 Wrestling Matches WWE Must Promote Before 2018

Forget waiting, we want it yesterday!

There's a lot of TV and pay-per-view time to fill before the curtain comes down on 2017. Not only are massive shows like SummerSlam and Survivor Series on the horizon, but countless episodes of Raw and SmackDown (along with all the other shows like Hell In A Cell, TLC etc) are there to be filled too.

WWE should by now have at least some idea which major matches will grace WrestleMania 34, and whilst it is sensible to withhold the marquee bouts until then, the impatience to see them is killing us as fans. Yes, showing restraint is admirable, but playing the waiting game is harder than we thought.

So come on, WWE writers, just give in and promote at least some of the matches people are crying out to see. If you do, then that oh-so-annoying post-SummerSlam lull might not seem as bad this year. Give in to temptation - and give the fans what they want...

10. Jinder Mahal Vs. John Cena

It's only a matter of time before someone like John Cena rises up like a patriotic hero to vanquish the evil foreign menace of Jinder Mahal. No, this isn't 1950, but try telling WWE that. Such 'America vs. The World' fluff is the stuff dreams are made of for that company.

Cena's next World Title will be his 17th and the one to break Ric Flair's longstanding record. Combine that with the idea of John beating a character who hates the USA and WWE may have an aneurysm; this is too perfect and even follows on from Cena putting Rusev in his place at Battleground in a Flag Match.

It remains to be seen how much interest there would be in Cena vs. Mahal, but WWE should at least try it. This is the kind of match ideal for a show like Hell In A Cell or another 'B' level SmackDown pay-per-view later this year. Not quite big enough for SummerSlam, but it'd still plug a hole elsewhere.
