10 Wrestling Sequels That Were Even Better Than The Originals

6. Shawn Michaels Vs Razor Ramon (SummerSlam '95)

Their WrestleMania 10 Intercontinental Title match was famously innovative and influential, but Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon would top their incredible effort just one year later at SummerSlam '95.

Curiously, the match hadn't even been due to occur at the August supershow, with 'fan-friendly' WWE President Gorilla Monsoon inserting Ramon and the ladder in at the expense of planned number one contender Sid.

In storyline terms, the unhinged giant would instead get a shot on Monday Night Raw, but it was actually a desperate attempt to give the card at least one redeeming match in between Bret Hart's battle with Issac Yankem DDS and Diesel's WWE Title defence against Mabel.

Building off the original, the ladder became as deadly a weapon for Razor Ramon as he attempted to dethrone newly-minted babyface Shawn Michaels. The contest even introduced a second ladder for the first time, following the complete contortion of the implement during their first match.

After Razor avoided Shawn's picture perfect ladder splash attempt, the two climbed parallel ladders ahead of the finish. 'HBK' hit Sweet Chin Music at the top of the ladder to floor 'The Bad Guy', but dramatically missed in his desperate leap for the title.

It then appeared that this had been a botch, with Michaels again failing to release the belt and throwing a major in-ring tantrum, before finally unstrapping the title as the downed Ramon slowly crawled to his feet.
