10 WWE Matches That Turned Into A Farce

A look back at some ridiculous moments. Anybody remember Hervina?

The wrestling business is supposed to be a lot of fun. Everybody knows that from the creative team to the wrestlers to the fans watching at home. We know that it's a form of scripted entertainment that we watch because we enjoy the theatrics of it all. There are also times when the business becomes too much of a joke and matches take place that are too silly even for the most hardcore fans. When a match becomes a joke it gets treated as such by the fans. You might hear the crowd boo, they might chant "boring" or go off chanting something else altogether like the names of the announcers at ringside or the name of a wrestler not even in the match. We've seen it so many times and we remember it because those matches aren't commonplace in the WWE ring. It's time to take a look back at the matches that made us scratch our heads and wonder why somebody had the good sense of having them take place at all. Some of them even featured some of the biggest names in the wrestling business, yet they still stunk up the joint so bad that they became a joke. In some cases, they were booked to be jokes from the outset and they failed miserably. Note that it's a WWE only list, so WCW's infamous "Fingerpoke of Doom" in early 1999 isn't going to make it on here although if it qualified it might be number one. This is WWE only. Here's a look at ten matches in WWE history that were a total farce or a joke.
