10 WWE WrestleMania Matches That Were Just Too Long

Stop the pain!

Modern WrestleManias are faced with a daunting challenge in regards to the length of the show. At close to four hours in duration (five if you consider that last year's pre-show had two matches), WWE has the unenviable task of holding the focus of fans whose attention spans dwindle annually, in lockstep with the rest of the world. Three hour episodes of Raw barely hold the attention of today's fans, so a four-hour show looms a bit larger, even with its offering of more marquee match-ups.

Even at the truly good WrestleManias of the last decade, you can still hear the restlessness among the fans well into Mania's third hour, waiting for the main event to come around to put an end to their faint ennui.

Sometimes, the matches themselves don't help. There are easily a number of WrestleMania encounters throughout the event's history that dragged on eternally, worse yet failing to provide a satisfying conclusion. One match that trudges with heavy feet toward its conclusion can throw off the rest of the show. Other times, it's the main event that's too long, with not enough action or drama to match the copious hype.

Whatever the case may have been, the following matches wore out their welcome to some degree at WrestleMania.
