7. Bret "Hitman" Hart Vs. Ravishing Rick Rude

The number of time Bret Hart was promised a singles push throughout his WWE career has been well-documented. Had the first attempt at separating the Hart Foundation around WrestleMania IV been sustained, fans would've likely witnessed a Rick Rude vs. Bret Hart program sometime over the next three years. Rude was a perennial upper mid-card heel that worked with many different babyfaces that were heavily featured on television programming. During the start-and-stops, Bret was always paired against fellow Minnesotan Mr. Perfect during the house show circuits of this time. Bret and Curt's chemistry was so good, dare I say 'perfect', that it finally reached television in the Summer of '91 during Bret's quest for the Intercontinental Championship.
