15 Biggest Losers In WWE SummerSlam History

Triple H? The Undertaker? Marty Jannetty? Who's been having the worst luck at SummerSlam?

As arguably the second-biggest show on the WWE calendar, and one of the longest running pay-per-views in company history, it’s always nice to get a win at SummerSlam. Not that I’d know first-hand, of course (no, I am not The Undertaker), but I’m assuming that’s the case.

Unfortunately, though, not everyone can be so lucky as to score a victory at the summer spectacular. Even for those who do come up trumps, they often rack up their fair share of defeats along the way, too.

But over the years, which performers have had the absolute worst of times at SummerSlam? And who’ll go down with the unwanted tag of being the biggest loser in the history of the event?

If these are the kind of questions that keep you up at night, then you’ve come to the right place because this article takes a look back through the history books to name and shame the whipping boys of SummerSlam.

Naturally, total losses will be the key criteria, with any supplementary wins being used as a decider if there are wrestlers who share the same number of defeats.

15. Bret Hart (4 Losses)

Bret Hart - The Best There is, the Best There Was and the Best There Ever Will Be. Just not if you’re talking about SummerSlam specifically.

Over the years, The Hitman’s been on the losing side on four separate occasions, including a pair of tag team bouts in 1988 and 1989 as well as his Intercontinental title loss to the British Bulldog at Wembley Stadium in 1992.

There was also a defeat via disqualification versus Jerry Lawler in 1993 but, admittedly, that was the result of a last-minute reversed decision after Hart had forced Lawler to tap to the Sharpshooter, but refused to relinquish the hold much to the disapproval of the referee.

But we need to bear in mind that Bret's many losses at SummerSlam are a direct result of the fact that he’s featured on so many occasions. He’s made a total of 11 appearances at the PPV, meaning his four defeats are accompanied by an impressive seven victories. As such, his win-loss ratio is rather healthier than the others on this list, saving him from ranking any higher.
