20 Biggest Stars In WCW Nitro History

The best warriors on the losing end of the Monday Night War.

Avid viewers of the WWE Network will notice that the company has recently added the entire first year of World Championship Wrestling's Monday Nitro program to the vault. It was a move many fans of old school professional wrestling have been waiting for and one that further exposes them to the rich history of the business. From the very first match in the show's six-year history, pitting Jushin "Thunder" Liger against "Flyin'" Brian Pillman, all the way to the debut of the New World Order and their early dominance over WCW and the disappearance of Sting, fans can relive the greatest challenge to WWE's dominance over the sports-entertainment landscape. While WWE was attempting to go to war with a roster full of young, underdeveloped talents and some ridiculous gimmicks while WCW pulled out big guns such as Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Ric Flair and Sting in an attempt to not only win the war but to put Vince McMahon and his company out of business in the process. The established stars that found a second wind in Ted Turner's company added to their sparkling legacies and created a must-see program that dominated the Monday Night Wars for 83 consecutive weeks. Now, in honor of the recent launch of Nitro on the WWE Network, as well as a 20-episode documentary series looking at the battle between WWE and WCW for Monday night supremacy, here is a look back at the 20 biggest stars in WCW Monday Nitro history.
