16. Dynamite Kid: A Matter Of Pride (2013)

Speaking of depressing, that's the perfect word to use when looking at the life and career of Tom Billington. At his best, Billington was known as The Dynamite Kid, one of the most incendiary and bright performers of his generation. Sadly, steroid and drug abuse would wreck his body and end his wrestling career for good.

Spiralling out of control, Dynamite was later confined to a wheelchair due to back problems. A Matter Of Pride was a fan-funded documentary in 2013, and it opens a box that some may have wished to keep shut. There's no other way to say it, Dynamite is not a happy man at all, and that comes across loud and clear throughout.

Bitter and resentful, he pulls no punches as he gives a rare interview. Thankfully, Davey Richards (who narrates the piece) clearly has a lot of admiration for Dynamite, and that helps lift things a little.

Wrestling documentaries don't need to be cheery in order to be interesting, and A Matter Of Pride is a great example of that very fact.
