The first RAW since the brand extension certainly looked like being the start of the New Era WWE had been promoting since WrestleMania. While there had been a marked improvement in the company's weekly shows since the Grandaddy Of Them All in April, it has largely been the same with the storylines involving management taking precedence over those involving Superstars themselves.

It's the New Era of the New Era, if that makes any sense to you whatsoever.

This was the first RAW under the guidance of Mick Foley and Stephanie McMahon so changes surely wouldn't be in short supply. Could you imagine if they didn't get rid of "Tonight Is The Night" as the show's theme and kept the same staging we've seen since, forever?

Nevertheless, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns' failure to bring the WWE Championship to RAW left one HUGE question ahead of this week's show: what would be RAW's top championship going forward? Many expected the World Heavyweight Championship to return in the aftermath of WWE dropping those two words from the other main title's title (that's a tad confusing isn't it?) in recent times. Then again, maybe they could create a brand new title because this is indeed a New Era... of the New Era.

22. They're Liars!

Or so it seemed in the early moments of this week's show...

Remember how both GMs claimed their shows would be about the superstars rather than management? Well, Mick Foley at least looked like being proved to be a massive liar in the opening segment of RAW as nothing had changed.

Nine of the 16 shots used in that opening recap of the Battleground main event featured management over Superstars, and then when RAW came on the air of course the night started with a promo from, you guessed it, the management. A leopard never changes its spots lads is what they teach you at school, although this was shown to be complete bulls**t as Foley delivered on his word. How he convinced Stephanie McMahon to follow suit is anyone's guess.

Credit to Steph and Mick though, this was the last time we'd see them on the night. Let's hope this level of exposure for the pair, and Shane and Daniel on SmackDown too, is kept the same going forward.
