4 Ups And Downs From Last Night's WWE Smackdown (Jan 29)

Daniel Bryan beat Kane again, this time in a Casket Match.

This week's edition of Smackdown was a very unique broadcast because it was a live show. The reason this one was live is because Monday's show in Hartford was cancelled in the arena due to a winter snow storm. WWE decided to still air a show from the XL Center, so that's what we got with Smackdown. It actually felt like Raw a bit because there were only four matches with two of them getting a decent amount of time while two others felt rushed. Then there was the standard promo to start the show and a promo at the start of hour two as well. It was more promo heavy than most editions of Smackdown. Raw still took place this week although it was really just about 25 minutes of interviews mixed in with the two big matches from the Royal Rumble. Going into the show, there were high expectations because we all figured that with three days off between the Royal Rumble and Smackdown would lead to a better show due to the fact that they had more time to plan things. As it turned out, it was still the same sort of average show that Smackdown typically is. If you were expecting something great then you were probably disappointed, but it was still a solid two hour wrestling show. There were only four matches on this show. Here are the results: 1. Roman Reigns d. Big Show 2. Tyson Kidd d. Jey Uso 3. The Ascension d. Goldust & Stardust 4. Casket Match: Daniel Bryan d. Kane Here are four ups and four downs from this week's Smackdown.
