5 Pre-WWE CM Punk Controversies You Need To Know About

Broken hearts, burned bridges and fights at the White Trash Cafe.

Cmpunk Roh CM Punk is currently the talk of the wrestling world. Everyone is buzzing about his ground-breaking interview on his friend Colt Cabana's The Art of Wrestling podcast. The podcast appearance caused a great deal of controversy by shedding light on some of WWE's questionable business practices and the personalities of influential figures like Triple H and Vince McMahon in a way that no major superstar has done before. Anybody who has followed Punk's WWE career knows that he's not afraid to speak his mind regardless of the consequences. Punk was, along with Randy Orton, the most outspoken member of the WWE locker room and lobbied hard for changes that would benefit himself and others in a similar position who weren't the beneficiary of a big, John Cena push. But Punk's WWE controversies should come as no surprise: Punk has always spoken his mind and controversy has dogged him throughout his life, not just in his WWE career. Before making it to the big leagues, Punk made long trips for poor payoffs for independent promotions and endeavoured overseas as he honed his craft and gained the experience necessary to make it to WWE. Along the way Punk rubbed a lot of people the wrong way with his honesty and confrontational nature. Hey, you don't develop a chip on your shoulder like Punk did overnight.
