6 More Bizarre WWE Coincidences

5. Edge Started And Ended His Career With A Broken Neck

Come to think of it, that debut match actually had a lot of coincidences tied to it.

Just two moves after that initial Spear, Edge would hit the ropes and somersault dive over the top rope, ending up breaking Jose Estrada's neck on the spot. Given that Edge retired to the same injury after his final match with Alberto Del Rio, that means 'The Ultimate Opportunist's WWF career began and ended just about the same way - a match involving a Hispanic wrestler and broken necks.

As a cherry on top, Jose Estrada was a second generation wrestler, and just try guessing who his father was. Any ideas? Conquistador Dos, also known as one half of the original Los Conquistadors. In case you’d forgotten this little gem, Edge & Christian would temporarily adapt the Los Conquistadors gimmick just two years later during a feud with the Hardyz.

Considering Edge & Christian had been banned from challenging the Hardyz for their tag team championships, you really could date Edge’s ‘Ultimate Opportunist’ gimmick all the way back to the Attitude Era.
