So, Bound For Glory sure did set the tone for a brand new era of Impact Wrestling, and not just because there's a new World Champion in town.

The first episode following the highly successful pay-per-view paved the way for some new storylines to begin while continuing others that aren't quite finished just yet. The World Championship title picture, now with Johnny Impact at the top of the pecking order, has seen a fresh face announce his intentions of challenging for the gold.

Meanwhile, the X Division Championship was defended for the first time in a number of weeks as the episode's main event. That match alone is a worthwhile reason to go out of your way to watch the show.

If this episode is a taste of what we can expect to see in the closing months of 2018, then Impact fans are in for a right good treat to cap off a monumental year for the promotion.

So, let's get to it...

Downs...

1. Why, Oh Why?

Just what is going on with Impact's resident Indian stars?

Following the breakup of the Desi Hit Squad and the departure of Gursinder Singh, Rohit Raju now has the challenge of facing Gama Singh (because that's a match that'll boost Rohit's status in Impact). Since the whole angle with their dissension began, it's been astoundingly bad to sit through these weekly segments.

When the DHS debuted, they had some potential to make it far in Impact. They had some decent tag moves and were ok in the ring. Take Gama out of the equation seeing as he doesn't seem to know what he's doing half the time, and they could've been one of the best teams in the new era of Impact. With all the hype Impact were putting on them upon their first arrival, there's no reason - unless it's a behind the scenes issue - that they've broken up this early.

As a result, we now get treated to weekly segments that always ensure Impact never has a completely great episode. Who wants to watch two fully grown adults being berated by an elderly man? The sooner this ends, the better...
