6 Ups & 1 Down From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Oct 18)

Ups...

6. Respect Is Earned

Despite failing in her attempt to capture the Knockouts Championship at Bound For Glory, Taya Valkyrie came out of the match looking like the star. Here, Taya said she lost all respect for Tessa Blanchard due to the way she retained the championship.

It's a fantastic way to further the rivalry between the pair. It's one that hadn't been played out too well in the weeks leading to the pay-per-view but with this new dynamic to it, the rematch down the line should be, as a result, promoted as one of the main attractions.

Impact could have easily had their rivalry as a one and done story, and have Tessa move on to someone new. It's better that they've stuck with Taya though, at least for the time being. She was gone for quite a while, and needs something to get her mixed back into the fold.

Additionally, it also shows a new character trait of Tessa, seeing as she cheated (albeit nothing too major) to retain the gold. While she can more than hold her own as champ without having to resort to such tactics, it's good to see these types of wins come now and again.
