Monday Night Raw might be known as the “red brand,” but it was overwhelmingly purple this week, with the Judgment Day front and center for the majority of the program.

The show focused heavily on the returning Rhea Ripley and the ongoing drama involving Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan, as well as Damian Priest’s quest for respect as World Heavyweight Champion heading into his biggest test at SummerSlam. Fans who have enjoyed those storylines likely were highly entertained by Raw; those who have been nonplussed were probably bored to tears.

Raw’s in-ring action was decidedly subpar Monday night, producing very little memorable wrestling – even with a main event of Sami Zayn defending his Intercontinental Championship against Ilja Dragunov. Instead, angles drove the bulk of the show, with Judgment Day’s drama, Drew McIntyre’s potential reinstatement, and the Wyatt Sick6 dominating.

Despite the lack of quality wrestling, there were some solid developments as WWE plows towards SummerSlam: Priest and Gunther had a heated exchange that added depth to their title match, Liv and Rhea's anticipated title match came into focus, and McIntyre’s obsessive loose cannon routine threatened to blow up a marquee match.

Fans’ opinions on this week’s Raw will likely be divided due to the reliance on one stable (and their angles) to carry the bulk of the show.

Let’s get to it…

He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
