6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (15 July - Results & Review)

Downs...

4. Meatless

WWE Raw Bronson Reed Sheamus
WWE

When WWE drew it up, they probably viewed Bronson Reed versus Sheamus as another of their “meaty men slapping meat” matches.

Sadly, this singles bout didn’t reach that potential, nor did it make you want to see a rematch. Sheamus is a hard-hitting guy who can take a beating as well as he gives one, but he needs the right dance partner to match his physicality. Reed has had moments where he can ramp up the strikes, but this never got to that point. It had a couple nice little moments, and then boom! It was missed moonsault, pump knee, goodnight nurse.

Worse, the Pete Dunne angle afterward – presumably a heel turn – led to Bronson squashing Sheamus with a Tsunami… because he needed to get his non-existent heat back. At least the Dunne/Sheamus story will likely be interesting.
