7 Reasons WWE Network Is Failing

1. The Current WWE Product Is Stale

The biggest reason why WWE Network isn't as successful as it should be is simply because the current state of WWE is stale right now. We just saw John Cena vs. Randy Orton on PPV again. They try to tell the fans that it's this epic rivalry, but to most people it's just a couple of guys who have average matches with each other in a feud that is stale much like WWE's current product. There are several things fans are complaining about these days: Raw is too long at three hours. Smackdown isn't a must see show anymore. The WWE Champion Brock Lesnar isn't wrestling for four months, yet they still put the WWE Title on him. The Authority heel stable is basically a ripoff of Vince McMahon in the same role 15 years ago. John Cena is doing the same things he's done for like ten years. On top of all that, the two best performers of the last five years are CM Punk and Daniel Bryan. Neither one of them is on WWE TV for different reasons. There are a lot of reasons to like current WWE stars like Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt, Seth Rollins and others. However, none of them are really doing anything to bring in the casual viewers that are sick of sitting through three hours of a Raw show that features the same 15 minute promo segment every week and usually has a main event ending in a DQ finish. Is there an Austin or Rock on the roster to bring in viewers? It doesn't look like it. It's pretty simple, WWE. If the current product was better, more people would be watching your television shows and in turn they would be more willing to spend the money on the WWE Network.
