7 Reasons WWE Network Is Failing

2. Not Enough New Content

This has been one of the biggest complaint of fans. WWE has this Network at their disposal and they are doing a poor job of adding new, exclusive content to it. Have you noticed that when they advertise new content they plug stuff like Legend's House and Total Divas? Legend's House aired when the Network first started in February while the Total Divas episodes that air have already been on E Network, so it's not really new. If you're looking for first run, new wrestling material then there's only PPV events, NXT, Main Event and Superstars. Obviously PPVs are a big reason why people are even getting the WWE Network in the first place, but it's not like they have been amazing shows this year. NXT is a good show although it's not advertised much. Those NXT specials are great too, but there are only four of them in a year. Main Event and Superstars are shows where nothing major happens, which is why fans don't even bother watching them. What WWE could do is maybe film a house show event and then put it on WWE Network. Perhaps they could do some kind of special event shows that aren't PPVs, but are simply billed as WWE Network specials. The "Taboo Tuesday" or "Cyber Sunday" concept worked a decade. Why not bring it back as a Network special? They actually had plans of doing Tough Enough again and putting it on WWE Network, but it got scrapped due to budget reasons. That's probably why all they can really do is air taped shows with interviews they've already put on different videos in the past. New programming is going to drive the WWE Network forward. Without it, they're just a tape library. That's not going to be enough to attract new subscribers.
