7 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (May 29)

Downs...

2. A Shame, But Not A Disaster

Big Cass
WWE.com

During a week when his former partner, Enzo Amore, attempted to single-handedly destroy the entire hip-hop genre by slinging his "consensual penis" all over YouTube, Big Cass showed up to spoil the much-anticipated Daniel Bryan vs. Samoa Joe singles match at the top of the show.

This is no grand outrage, but a matter of preference. Given Joe's diminishing athleticism, hitting the "Dream Match" billing some had encumbered the bout with would've been tricky. Still, a singles match is almost always preferable to a Triple Threat in WWE, particularly when someone like Cass is the third party, and it's a shame we didn't get Bryan vs. Joe.

The replacement bout was fun (more on that later), but the one-on-one could've sat among SmackDown's best of 2018. Oh well...
