7 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (May 29)

1. Stop This Immediately

The Bludgeon Brothers need more microphone time.

They're remarkably un-over for two wrestlers who've been around the company for so long, but their general lack of presence is only part of the problem. This gimmick stinks. It's a common complaint on this author page, and unfortunately, for as long as Harper and Rowan trot out tripe like this, it'll remain relevant.

Last night saw Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows conduct a brief backstage segment on abs, 'Machine Gun's' #HotAsianWife, and their upcoming SmackDown Tag Team Title shot. This prompted a quick-fire response from the Bludgeons, and it was horrendous. SPOOKY music. CREEPY visuals. Shouting. Gurning. "Minds OBLITERATED. Souls CORRUPTED. Bodies LIQUEFIED."

Garbage. Absolute garbage. The Brothers need a stronger presence, but their writing is absolutely tragic, and spots like this do more harm than good. It's cartoonish, childish, impossible to buy into, and exactly the kind of hokey nonsense that has long plagued their former master, Bray Wyatt. Don't expect these guys to get over anytime soon.
