7 Ups & 6 Downs From Impact Wrestling Hard To Kill 2020

A history-making night as 'The Draw' meets his match.

Tessa Blanchard Impact Champion

2019 saw four outstanding pay-per-views held by Impact Wrestling. They all came jam-packed with some amazing wrestling matches. However, none of them (maybe with the exception of Slammiversary) were quite as historic as their first of 2020, Hard To Kill. The name choice was certainly appropriate.

The 12 January event in Dallas, Texas marked the first time in history that a woman would main event the pay-per-view of a major wrestling promotion by challenging for the main championship of the company. Not only was it historic, but the story coming into the Sami Callihan vs. Tessa Blanchard showdown has had everyone watching fully invested from start to finish. Their match was just the icing on the cake.

That wasn't the only reason why it was such a successful pay-per-view, however. Michael Elgin and Eddie Edwards had a fantastic rematch of their encounter from this past Tuesday's episode of Impact, Taya Valkyrie continued on her staggering reign as the Knockouts Champion after a thrilling match with Jordynne Grace and ODB, and Willie Mack went into the World Tag Team Championships match alone, taking The North to the limit in the process.

If the company is looking to have an even better year in 2020, then they're certainly coming out all guns blazing. The landscape of Impact has been flipped on its head with the history-making title change. Let's get to it...
