The late Mike Shaw, a veteran of promotions like Stampede and WCW, had some truly woeful gimmicks during his stay in the WWF. By the time he got there in 1993, his best years were clearly behind him and he had let himself go. He was given the gimmick of 'Friar Ferguson', the mad monk, another cartoonish misfire for the ailing company.

His one and only match, against jobber Chris Duffy, was completely unremarkable in every way. Shaw looked like what he was; a bald, old man with wobbly knees. Vince can't have been impressed. The Catholic Church of New York certainly weren't, and they complained about the character, forcing it to be removed from television.

Shaw's next gimmick, the frankly disgusting Bastion Booger, made Friar Ferguson look like Hulk Hogan in comparison.
