Being relegated to WrestleMania 33's Kickoff Show was reportedly a deciding factor in Austin Aries' decision to leave WWE, as the loss of spotlight and DVD royalty money irked the notoriously spiky star. It isn't beyond reason to assume that Dean Ambrose falls into the same category.

WrestleMania 32 was a debacle, but at least 'The Lunatic Fringe' made the main card. This wasn't the case one year later, when his Intercontinental Championship defence against Baron Corbin was moved to the pre-show without warning, playing out before a dead crowd in a building that was still filling up.

Though the bout itself was nothing special, it's hard to feel upset at the wrestlers for not going all-out. Corbin and Ambrose were shafted by management. While his buddies Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins contested featured bouts against The Undertaker and Triple H respectively, Dean was left fighting for scraps on a show nobody was watching, adding another notch to his lengthening list of 'Mania letdowns.

All this so the hardest man alive, Shane McMahon, could get ten extra minutes in his ludicrous battle with AJ Styles.
