8 Obscure Movie And TV Roles You Never Knew The Rock Had

Before he was Hollywood's highest grossing actor, The Rock sure did love The Disney Channel.

In 2013, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was named Forbes' highest grossing actor. The part-time WWE Superstar has become a sort of franchise Viagra after helping to save both G.I. Joe and Fast & Furious, and just about anything and everything The Rock stars in ends up being a box office smash. His latest hit? San Andreas, with $400 million worldwide. However, Johnson hasn't always been the leading man. Like many wrestlers, The Rock's early acting career featured a lot of embarrassing and stereotypical cameo appearances. Many of those came during the period he spent in the WWE winning 17 championships and headlining five WrestleManias, but even after The Rock decided to pursue a career in Hollywood, his transformation into a box office force to be reckoned with wasn't immediate. Most importantly, The Rock proved that, yes, wrestlers can act. Not all of his appearances were particularly polished, but they gave him the chance to show off his charisma to a larger audience. His early roles may have just been an extension of his in ring personality, and while those were weird enough, they actually seemed to get stranger as time went on. Here, you will find eight of The Rock's best - and definitely most obscure- cameo roles.
