Clash of Champions is just around the corner, which means that Monday Night Raw had some ground to cover to start filling out the card, and the flagship show did just that.

Let’s give it up to WWE for putting together a pretty decent episode of Raw. Sure, we got the Shining Stars in multiple segments, but at least now they have characters: timeshare salesmen. Yes, it’s lame, but it’s something, so we’ll call that a wash.

Raw really was the Kevin Owens Show, with the Universal Champion getting an interview segment, a backstage segment and a main event match. And he shined in all three. Here’s hoping that being cursed with being champ while Raw competes with Monday Night Football won’t hamper his title reign.

Raw also gave the women some attention, with Charlotte, Dana Brooke, Sasha Banks and Bayley opening up the show with Mick Foley, and the latter three competing in a match for a title shot. We also saw Nia Jax continue her path of destruction, graduating from demolishing local talent to battering active members of the Raw roster.

All in all, this was a pretty good episode of Raw, with a handful of complaints, though none were really major. There was nothing glaringly bad this week. So what passed with flying colors and what landed in detention? Let’s get to it…

He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
