Oh goodie, look! WWE is adding a segment to the Payback PPV on Sunday! We€™ll get to see Vince, Stephanie and Shane McMahon together as Vince decides who will run Monday Night Raw. And admittedly, Raw has gotten a little more fun with all the new faces on the show and new feuds. But that isn€™t curing the little things that are maddening about Raw on a weekly basis. There still is the underlying condition.

Otherwise, the go-home Raw before Payback helped punctuate some of the feuds out there and did so nicely overall. The big issue that emerged from the show was whether AJ Styles and his former running buddies Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows are indeed collaborating to beat down Roman Reigns before he puts his WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Styles. Perhaps the best part of this is knowing that Finn Balor €“ also a former leader of the famed Bullet Club before AJ €“ just lost his NXT Championship, fueling speculation that he will make his main roster debut and join up with Anderson and Gallows.

All in all, WWE did a nice job building to a PPV that could be really good with several new and interesting bouts on the card. Whether they pull it off is another issue, but at least we can be cautiously optimistic, rather than the doom and gloom that surrounded WrestleMania XXXII.

So what soared to new heights and what came crashing to Earth? Let€™s get to it
