Backstage Heat On Randy Orton Over Roman Reigns Matches

The locker room say RK-NO to Orton vs Reigns.

There is backstage heat on Randy Orton due to his "crowd killing" style in matches against Roman Reigns over the weekend. Reports say that Orton's peers feel as if the veteran star didn't do Reigns any favours in their contests. As a result of Orton's actions, the live crowd had an overwhelmingly negative reaction, which is a bad sign for what is meant to be one of SummerSlam's key main events. Some superstars are said to be concerned that Orton will slow down WWE's planned push to make Reigns their new biggest babyface. The plan for Reigns is that he will be the new John Cena by the time of WrestleMania 31. The importance of his elevation is compounded by the fact that Daniel Bryan is out with a long term injury. John Cena is doing ok on top, but he isn't able to carry the company on his own, there's always been a hot number 2 babyface in the last few years. WWE need Reigns firing on all cylinders and taking up that role. If Orton is accidentally or even deliberately holding Reigns back then it's going to be detrimental to the company. With WWE aware of these negative reactions, expect the veteran to up his game ahead of SummerSlam. Randy is more than capable of having some compelling matches with Reigns, as demonstrated by their exchanges as part of The Shield Vs Evolution battles this past Spring. The two men also met in a string of one on one matches for house shows in that period, which in those instances, were very good contests.
