CM Punk made headlines over the weekend after reportedly appearing under a mask at an independent MKE event in Milwaukee. Now, according to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com, there's further news that Punk has actually been doing this sort of thing for overfour years now.

Yes, we're every bit as stunned as you.

Sapp tweeted out that Punk previously appeared as a manager for a Freelance Wrestling show in December 2015, and Robbie Fox of Barstool Sports chimed in to claim he'd been doing it sporadically for various indys since leaving WWE in January 2014. This, apparently, is something the former World Champ and current UFC hopeful gets a kick out of.

On the subject of UFC, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter are also reporting that Punk is still under contract with the MMA giant despite UFC having zero plans to use him again. Punk's two losses to Mickey Gall and Mike Jackson hardly covered him in glory, but it looks like he's yet to be cut from the active roster.

The guy's mix of MMA training and anonymous cameo showings on indy shows are curious if nothing else. Stay tuned.
