Dustin 'Goldust' Rhodes Comments On His Father Dusty Passing Away

Dustin Rhodes aka WWE superstar shared some thoughts on father Dusty Rhodes passing away on his Facebook page.

Yesterday my father passed away with his four children, my daughter and his wife of 38 yrs. he was our hero and the greatest father in the world. He is the reason why I am who I am today. He taught me so so many lessons in life. He had 1 thing that he wanted to be and that was he wanted to be forever young. Now he is. Now he is dancing with angels in heaven. He was my mentor, my hero and a dad that I strive to be like. I love you dad. Thank you for all the overwhelmingly amount of love and support. He would have been on cloud 9 with this. Thank you all. It's a very difficult time for Dustin, so it was very cool to see him share his thoughts on his father passing away suddenly at the age of 69 yesterday. The part about his father wanting him to be "forever young" is also very touching because it is a great example of how Dusty lived his life. Dusty was always a guy that was full of life with a big smile on his face and that's the way his son wants him to be remembered. The relationship with Dusty and Dustin was tumultuous at times, but there were many more good times than bad. Dusty broke Dustin into the business in WWE and WCW when Dustin was in his early 20s, then they had a bit of a falling out when Dustin had some drug problems. They got back on the right terms in the last decade or so and had a very close bond right up until Dusty died.

While we may never know how Dusty truly felt about it, he was probably most proud of the moment when Dustin and Cody teamed up regularly in 2013. He was a beloved father that loved his family and they loved him back. He will be missed by all.
