Finn Balor Debuts This Week On WWE's NXT

Will finally make his WWE bow on Thursday.

For those awaiting the top indy stars that were signed by the WWE to appear, the time has come where the fourth of five "Leaders Of The New School" will make his debut this coming Thursday. The current "Leaders Of The New School" currently on NXT include Adrian Neville, Sami Zayn, and Hideo Itami. On the next episode of NXT this Thursday, November 6th, Finn Balor will make his long-awaited debut. That just leaves Kevin Steen; who will be known as Kevin Owens as the only member of the "Leaders Of The New School to make his debut. Rumor has it that he'll make his debut at the next NXT Takeover show in December. If there is ever a day where a regular episode of NXT becomes must-see television, this Thursday is it because it is our first look at Finn Balor in the WWE. Ever since Hideo Itami debuted on NXT, The Ascension has been a thorn in Itami's side. It all started at the last NXT Takeover: Fatal 4-Way when GM William Regal introduced Itami to the WWE Universe. They were interrupted by a pissed off Konnor and Viktor who had just lost the NXT Tag Team Championship to the Lucha Dragons. They would go on to attack Itami, but in the end Itami would get the upper hand, and end up sitting in a chair in the middle of the ring taunting The Ascension to get back in and fight. In the weeks following Itami's debut, there has been a lot of physicality between himself and The Ascension. Former WWE superstar (and Smackdown's #1 Announcer) Funaki offered to be a mentor to Itami, and that led to Konnor and Viktor destroying him in the ring while Itami was hung up in the ropes. Then Itami would take the fight to The Ascension on a couple of occasions, but as you can guess, the numbers game would eventually get to Itami; which led to many beatdowns. This brings us to last week's edition of NXT when Itami was interviewed backstage, and let us know that he's bringing a friend. That friend will be no other than Finn Balor. Finn Balor is better known as Prince Devitt, and he has made his biggest mark in New Japan Pro Wrestling. For over four years in New Japan Pro Wrestling, Devitt was one of the most popular wrestlers and top faces. He was aligned with the well-liked Ryusuke Taguchi, and they captured a total of four IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships. Then in 2013, Devitt made a villainous heel turn on Taguchi to form one of the greatest factions in pro wrestling today called the Bullet Club. This was a faction made up of foreigners that caused havoc in New Japan Pro Wrestling in a style similar to the nWo. It definitely seems that in the first few months of his WWE career, Balor will be a face and side with Itami. One would assume that he'll pull some sort of Bullet Club-like heel turn on Itami to set up one hell of a feud down the road. The union of Itami and Balor will most likely lead to a tag match at NXT Takeover in December; which is a HUGE addition to a card that already has a main event of Adrian Neville and Sami Zayn. From there, it will be interesting to see if they continue to be a tag team, and possibly feud with teams like The Vaudevillains (who I think will win the tag titles at the next Takeover) once The Ascension makes their long-awaited call-up to the main roster.
