Kurt Angle Is "100% Done With TNA" As WWE Return Looms

Kurt Angle is one of the best WWE performers of all time. He was active in WWE from 1999 to 2006 and has been in TNA ever since, but with a contract that is up in September there's a chance that he could return home to WWE in the very near future. The Wrestling Observer notes that it's highly unlikely that Angle will return to TNA when his deal is up. There's a big feeling amongst TNA employees that the Olympic gold medalist is 100% done with the company. A big reason why Angle likely won't be brought back by TNA is that they are trying to save money. They've lost a lot of money in the last few years and cut their roster nearly in half because two years ago they had 60 wrestlers under contract and now it's just 33 names. There have been several big name exits in recent months with Hulk Hogan, Sting and AJ Styles as the biggest ones. Angle would certainly fall into that category. Angle is currently out of action after knee surgery that will likely keep him out until October. That's what he has said on his Twitter account @RealKurtAngle several times. Angle is now 45 years old and even though he has a reputation as one of the toughest guys ever that has battled through so many injuries, at some point he has to slow down. Since a return to TNA seems like it won't happen, there's a feeling within the wrestling business that Angle could go back to WWE. The Observer noted that when Angle's deal was up in the past there wasn't that much interest by WWE, but that could change. Angle had troubles with alcohol, so he went to rehab to clean himself up. He hasn't had any incidents since then. Due to the injuries as well as his age, Angle would likely be more open to working part time for WWE and as an ambassador for the company. There's a chance that he could go work for Jeff Jarrett's Global Force Wrestling promotion that is starting up soon, but we don't really know if they will have the money to afford a guy like Angle. Even though Jarrett married Angle's ex-wife Karen, the two are said to be on good terms. It wasn't always great for them, but they worked it out. It makes a lot of sense for Angle to return to WWE. He could work a schedule where he only has to wrestle a few matches per year against the likes of Daniel Bryan and perhaps one more battle with Brock Lesnar. Old rivals like Triple H and John Cena are possibilities too. His return could also lead to an obvious Hall of Fame induction as well as a DVD and documentary covering his amazing career. Angle is one of the best in-ring performers ever and absolutely should end his career where it started in WWE. We will update you on any other developments on Angle's potential return to WWE as more news comes in.
