Forced into an on-screen return via the Enzo Amoré attack storyline, Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson were not permitted an impactful redebut akin to the hammering they dished out to The New Day in the first fortnight of their main roster career.

Merely shunted onto the card via listless promo segments, (and even more insultingly, Main Event) The Revival were in dire need of an actual reason to exist again on Monday Nights, with April's 'Superstar Shake-up' and the longstanding war between The Hardy Boyz and the Sheamus/Cesaro unit drastically altering the tag team scene in their absence.

It was Matt and Jeff that bore the brunt of their overdue comeback strike. After a segment teasing a possible return to the 'Broken' universe, the former tag team champions continued their run of poor form with a loss to Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, then faced the Revival's wrath in a powerful post-match beating.

It immediately became one of the most intriguing rivalries on the roster. Dash and Dawson on their day are untouchable in tag team action, and best of all, they know it. The competitive fire that burns within them on a professional level should drive the feud with the iconic North Carolinians to unparalleled heights, and last week's beatdown will hopefully be the trigger point of a transformational dispute.
