NJPW G1 Climax 2018, Week 1: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best

14. Tama Tonga Vs Juice Robinson (July 15th)

Kenny Omega Tetsuya Naito
NJPW

Rating: **1/2

Few wrestlers had nights more special at NJPW's G1 primer of the very same name when the group ventured West to the Cow Palace than Juice Robinson and Tama Tonga, but the sound of their collective momentum screeching to a halt could easily be heard over the Ota General Gymnasium silence that greeted their disappointing debut offering.

Tonga lacked the fire of his post-show Bullet Club beatdown, instead relying as much on his brethren's ringside roughhousing as anything in his own arsenal. Tama literally asked Twitter gif-makers to capture his entrance as he swerved and swayed to the ring - it was probably all they thought worthy of merit.
