NJPW G1 Climax 2018, Week 1: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best

13. EVIL Vs YOSHI-HASHI (July 16th)

Kenny Omega Tetsuya Naito
NJPW1972

Rating: **1/2

As he'd done in his bruising tournament curtain-raiser against Togi Makabe, YOSHI-HASHI gave everything to his battle with EVIL. The results were frustratingly familiar though, positioning him potentially as a point-free punching bag for the remainder of the tournament.

Even heroically tearing away the bandages that had held together his frazzled frame couldn't inspire glory - EVIL polished him off in a brisk 12:37 despite the 'Head Hunter's blind nobility. The match couldn't equal his energy, perhaps foreshadowing EVIL's eventual mid-table finish.
