Ranking Every Demon Finn Bálor Match In WWE And NXT

Finn Bálor has put together an amazing portfolio of matches as The Demon since his 2014 NXT debut.

WWE likely had no idea that when they signed Finn Bálor (f.k.a. Price Devitt in New Japan Pro Wrestling) to a developmental deal in 2014 that they were getting an even bigger attraction in The Demon as well.

Bálor debuted his Demon persona at NXT TakeOver: R Evolution in December 2014, and in the last five years, he has donned the body paint in 14 matches on the black-and-gold brand and the main roster. Of course, some bouts have been better than others, but all of them featured that extra intensity that Bálor only brings to the table whenever he portrays The Demon King.

Although he'd compete as The Demon every few months on the quarterly TakeOver specials, it eventually became a much more rare occurrence once he joined Raw in 2016. Now (aside from Super ShowDown possibly because that was pretty random), it's way more meaningful whenever he makes his exciting entrance while wearing the unique getup and steps in the ring ready for war.

From Full Sail University to the grand stage of WrestleMania, The Demon has never ceased to feel special. It helps that he's largely had an outstanding array of opponents to work with while wrestling as his alter-go, yet only once has The Demon been defeated.

Which Superstar has given The Demon his best bout to date?

14. Vs. Baron Corbin (SummerSlam 2018)

Finn Bálor vs. Baron Corbin seemed to be the feud that would just never end in the summer of 2018. They had some decent matches together but nothing that would be considered above-average.

Thus, fans were disappointed when it was announced that they'd be doing battle yet again at SummerSlam. However, knowing it was the least anticipated match on the card, WWE swerved everyone by bringing out The Demon to face Corbin that night, which resulted in a huge reaction from the fans in Brooklyn.

Better yet, Bálor went on to squash Corbin in under a minute. Not only was the unexpected return of his alter-ego a treat, he spared us from what would have likely been a bore of a bout by beating Corbin as quickly and as decisively as he did. Short and sweet was exactly what this needed to be, and it was.

Since this really wasn't much of a match, it ranks at the bottom, even though it was a pleasant surprise.
