The Many Faces Of Mick Foley Ranked - From Worst To Best
What was the current RAW GM's greatest incarnation?
Mick Foley may just be wrestling's most surprising success story. Mrs. Foley's baby boy was the ultimate fan who went on to live his dream, and then some. He worked for every major wrestling promotion in North American, along with a whole host companies in Japan and Europe, winning titles all over the world, losing ears and breaking bones in the process.
Foley was known for his hardcore style of wrestling, but he was every bit as known for the great range and variety of the characters that he portrayed at the highest level. A key staple of the Attitude Era, Foley cycled through a number of characters as his peers and contemporaries pretty much stayed true to what brought them to the dance.
It was Foley's ability to evolve that made him stand out, and it is surprising how much people take his ability to switch between violence and comedy for granted. Foley's characters were all different, each as layered and fascinating as the next.
But which was the best face of Foley? Was it Dude Love, the very first Foley creation who leaped from the roof of his parent's house? Or how about the deranged Mankind? Maybe some confused individual thinks Commissioner Foley was his finest moment?
Well, here's what I think...
8. GM Foley
The current version of Mick Foley that we see on our TV screens (or monitors) seems somewhat hamstrung in truth. Foley is the current General Manager of WWE RAW, and whilst he provides an iconic face and presence on TV, he still seems to be completely in the shadow of Stephanie McMahon.
Daniel Bryan faced a similar dilemma on SmackDown Live, but he seems to have created a platform for his own two feet to find solid ground. Foley looks somewhat like a proxy for Stephanie, and until conflict begins between the two this will continue to be the case.
Here's hoping the stare GM Foley received from Triple H this past Monday will breathe new life into this 2016 version of Mick Foley.
