WWE made a crowd pleasing announcement when they introduced Kurt Angle as the first member of their Hall Of Fame's Class of 2017 earlier this week.

The ceremony takes place in Orlando, Florida on April 1st, and while we know Angle will definitely be there, there's no word on who might have the honour of inducting him.

Former rivals Edge and Shawn Michaels stand as potential options, but in Kurt's eyes, there's only one man for the job: Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Speaking in a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, the Olympic Hero had this to say about Austin potentially inducting him:-

“That’s a no-brainer. I had just started with WWE and had a program with Austin right after I beat Rock for the world title. I had a quick skit with Stephanie and Triple H, and then it was right on to Austin. We had some memorable feuds and some very funny segments, so he is at the top of my list.” “Steve was one of the most giving individuals. He took me in and allowed me to shine even when it was still his time. I don’t ever compare myself to Stone Cold. He is the guy who elevated wrestling to a level that nobody ever went before, but he enabled me to show my talents when he very well could have said no. He was a very giving individual, and he is one of the guys who had the biggest impact on my career.”

Austin represents an excellent candidate. Aside from their first interactions in the WWE Championship scene, Austin and Angle played starring roles alongside each other in the Invasion storyline. The duo captained Team WWE at the titular pay-per-view but lost when Austin turned heel, joined The Alliance, and laid Angle out with a Stone Cold Stunner.

Angle and Austin feuded for months before Kurt chose to join The Alliance himself in October 2001. Whether working as allies or rivals, they always had excellent on-screen chemistry, and their goofball comedy segments might seem hokey today, but they were a big hit back then.

All things considered, there doesn't appear to be a better option than Stone Cold on the table.

Angle will be wrestling for our sister promotion WCPW in the main event of the upcoming True Destiny iPPV in Milton Keynes on February 12.
