WWE: 10 Steps To Booking Sting For WrestleMania 30 (And Beyond)

In the world of pro wrestling, you aren't anyone unless you have competed under the banner of World Wrestling Entertainment. That is unless you are The Icon Sting. This world famous and much loved wrestler has never appeared in the WWE. He made his name as the franchise star of WCW in the early to mid-90's, making World Championship Wrestling a bigger and better product than the WWF. As the millennium approached, Sting re-invented himself as a darker figure, descending from arena rafters to dispatch justice against the NWO. Along the way he captured multiple World Championships. Despite his high profile and success, when WCW went out of business in 2001, a Sting to WWE deal never got done. There are various reasons for this. Sting had a hefty contract that WWE didn't want to buy out and on Sting's part he was worried Vince McMahon would mishandle the Sting character. The WCW icon didn't want to go to WWE and in any way sully his already sensational legacy. The years started to roll away. Sting ended up working for the much smaller TNA Wrestling, a southern based company more in fitting with his traditional fanbase. Despite seemingly making sense for both the WWE and Sting, a deal has so far never been achieved. Up until now. Speculation and insider reporting seems almost certain that Sting will join the WWE this year. With TNA in financial and creative insecurity, Sting is set to move on. WWE this time are ready to go in for the free agent, with a deal reported to be in the works for an appearance at Wrestlemania 30. But how can WWE bring in this mega talent? At an age of 54 and quite possibly a complete nobody to many in the WWE audience (remember that most WWE viewers don't watch TNA and never did WCW - a great deal of fans are kids too) the company does have some problems in bringing in this historic icon. As such, WhatCulture takes a look at how WWE can book Sting for Wrestlemania and beyond ...
