WWE: 10 Things That Must Happen Before 2014 Ends
We've seen CM Punk quit and The Undertaker lose his streak... but there's still much more we need to see from 2014 before we are fully satisfied.
WWE.comThere is no denying that 2014 thus far has been one of the most historic and unforgettable years in recent wrestling history. So much has happened in the first six months alone from CM Punk walking out on WWE to The Undertaker's undefeated WrestleMaina streak being broken to The Shield breaking up, so it's exciting to think what the next six months will bring. If there's one thing that fans know for sure, it's that the remainder of the 2014 will be anything but dull. Of all the exciting matches and moments 2014 has brought us since January, the year has not been without its flaws and faults that fans would much rather forget. It's been far from a perfect year and the pairing of Santino Marella and Emma, mishandling of Xavier Woods and Batista's face run are all proof of that. That said, WWE still has the rest of the year to right their wrongs and improve upon some of their poor booking decisions. The likelihood of the following actually occurring is slim to none, but it's not a matter of whether they should happen, it's a matter of whether WWE would allow them to happen. Nevertheless, this list are simple suggestions as to what WWE should consider doing in the next six months. Some are personal preference and others are mandatory, but either way all of them combined could make 2014 one of the greatest years in wrestling history. 10. Christian Must Retire
WWE.comOne of the most highly respected Superstars on the roster today, Christian's in-ring careers spans nearly two decades. In his 10 years with WWE, Christian has won a multitude of championships including the World Heavyweight, Intercontinental and Tag Team titles on several occasions. However, Christian has seen his time a part of the active roster dwindle considerably in recent years due to injuries. Christian is currently out of action with a concussion suffered in March. Christian's most recent run didn't last more than two months before he was once again sidelined with an injury. It was at that point rumors began running rampant that his days as an active competitor were numbered. At the age of 40, Christian doesn't have many more years left in him anyway. It was reported that his contract is set to expire later this year, so it's only logical for him to wrap up his days as a wrestler and move into a trainer role in NXT. As a massive fan of Christian, I'm not at all saying that I wish to see Christian retire from the ring, but it'd probably be best if he did. What left does he have to prove? He hasn't done much of note since dropping the World Heavyweight title in 2011 and has floundered all over the card for the most part. That said, if Christian really is on his way out by the end of year, it'd be great to see him have just "one more match." It may not necessarily for a world title, nor should it be, but Captain Charisma deserves a proper send-off after an excellent run over the last 20 years.
